This page covers Chess Tournament Manager on Android and iOS (also published as Chess Tournaments on Android), and Chess Tournament Manager Pro on macOS and Windows. Read the section for the edition you use. Mobile and desktop have separate purchase and service arrangements.
Android & iOS
Last updated: May 24, 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to the Chess Tournament Manager mobile application, also published as Chess Tournaments on Android, provided by Daniel Milano ("we", "us", or "Service Provider").
By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
App Purpose
The app helps users create and manage chess tournaments, including players, rounds, pairings, results, standings, tiebreaks, byes, PDFs, premium features, sign-in, and optional cloud backup.
The app is provided as a freemium service and is intended for use as is.
License and Restrictions
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for personal, club, school, or organizational chess tournament management, subject to these terms and applicable app store rules.
You may not:
copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or create derivative works from the app;
reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract the source code, except where allowed by law;
remove copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices;
use the app in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights;
interfere with, abuse, or attempt to bypass app security, purchase verification, account systems, or cloud services.
All trademarks, copyrights, database rights, and other intellectual property rights related to the app remain the property of the Service Provider or their respective owners.
Tournament Data and User Responsibility
You are responsible for the tournament data you enter into the app, including player names, ratings, results, standings, and any exported or shared PDFs.
You should review pairings, standings, results, and exported documents before using them in an official or public setting. The app is a tournament-management tool and does not replace the judgment of an arbiter, organizer, federation, or official tournament authority.
Dutch Swiss features are experimental and FIDE-aware, but they are not an official, certified, endorsed, or guaranteed FIDE implementation.
Accounts and Sign-In
Some features may require sign-in. Depending on your platform, the app may support Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Firebase Authentication, or similar account services.
You are responsible for maintaining access to the account provider you use. If you lose access to your Google, Apple, or other sign-in account, some app features, purchase restoration, or cloud backup restoration may not work as expected.
Cloud Backup
Cloud backup is optional and may require sign-in and an active premium entitlement.
On Android, cloud backup may use Google Drive app data storage in your Google account.
On iOS, cloud backup may use iCloud/CloudKit private database storage in your Apple/iCloud account.
Cloud backup availability depends on third-party services, account status, network access, platform permissions, app version compatibility, and subscription or purchase state. We do not guarantee that backup or restore will always be available or error-free.
You remain responsible for maintaining appropriate copies of important tournament data.
Premium Features, Purchases, and Subscriptions
Some app features may require a one-time purchase, subscription, or other premium entitlement. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple App Store, Google Play, RevenueCat, and their payment systems.
Prices, trial availability, renewal terms, cancellation rules, refunds, taxes, and payment methods are governed by the applicable app store and payment provider.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not automatically cancel a subscription.
Premium access may require purchase verification, account sign-in, or restoration through the app store or RevenueCat. If verification is unavailable, premium features may be temporarily unavailable.
Internet, Device, and Platform Requirements
Some features require an active internet connection, including sign-in, purchase verification, analytics, crash reporting, cloud backup, restore, and store links.
You are responsible for any mobile data, roaming, internet, or third-party charges related to using the app.
The app may not function properly if your device is offline, unsupported, modified, rooted, jailbroken, out of storage, out of battery, or using an incompatible operating system version.
Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that have their own terms and policies, including:
Google Play Services: https://policies.google.com/terms
Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/terms
Google Drive API: https://developers.google.com/terms
Google Play: https://play.google.com/about/play-terms/

Your use of those services may be subject to additional terms from the relevant provider.
Privacy
Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy:

The Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, how cloud backup works, and how to request deletion of account-linked data.

Some records may need to be retained by app stores, RevenueCat, Firebase, Google, Apple, or us for legal, tax, accounting, purchase restoration, refund, fraud-prevention, security, or compliance reasons.
Updates and Changes to the App
We may update, change, suspend, remove, or discontinue features at any time. You may need to install app updates to continue using the app or certain features.
We do not guarantee that the app will always support every device, operating system version, third-party service, file format, backup format, or previous app version.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the app or specific services if you violate these terms, abuse the app, attempt to bypass purchase or account verification, or use the app unlawfully.
You may stop using the app at any time and delete it from your device. Deleting the app may remove local data from that device but does not automatically cancel subscriptions or delete account-linked records held by third-party providers.
Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, complete, secure, or suitable for every tournament or official use case.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and availability.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service Provider is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, revenue, profits, tournament results, rankings, business, goodwill, or opportunities arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be limited.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. When we update them, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the updated terms.

macOS & Windows
Last updated: 23 October 2026. These terms cover the macOS and Windows editions of Chess Tournament Manager Pro. Desktop availability is currently marked as coming soon.
Developer and support
The software is provided by Daniel Milano, operating under the brand Bottega del software. Contact bottega.software@gmail.com for product support.
Free and Pro features
Round Robin and Knockout remain free. Pro provides access to paid tournament formats, including Swiss, FIDE Dutch Swiss, Team Swiss and Arena. You may use the app to manage your tournaments; you remain responsible for checking tournament settings, entered results and exported reports.
Desktop subscription
The planned desktop Pro Monthly subscription is €1.99 per month, including applicable taxes, with a 7-day free trial for eligible customers. Payment details are required. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, the subscription converts to a paid monthly subscription and renews automatically until cancelled. Check the amount, currency, trial eligibility and first payment date displayed at checkout before confirming.
Desktop purchases are sold by Paddle, our authorised reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment and billing under its Buyer Terms. RevenueCat manages subscription access.
Account and access
Sign in with Google or Apple before purchasing. Use the same sign-in account to access your subscription again. Google and Apple sign-ins are not automatically merged; an email entered for billing does not change the app account receiving access. An internet connection is needed for sign-in, purchases and subscription verification.
Cloud backup and tournament data
Optional cloud backup and restore require internet access, provider authorization and, where applicable, an active premium entitlement. Google Drive and iCloud availability depends on your provider account, permissions, service availability and compatible app and backup versions. Signing in does not automatically back up or restore your tournaments.
Use the app account associated with the backup and the appropriate Google or iCloud account. A new backup replaces the previous app backup; the current Google Drive process removes the previous backup before uploading the replacement, so a failed upload may leave no cloud backup. Keep separate copies of important tournament data and review the app's final result after a backup or restore. Backup and restore are not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or error-free.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancel through the “Manage subscription” link in your Paddle confirmation email or contact Paddle support. Uninstalling the app or signing out does not cancel billing. See our desktop cancellation and refund policy.
Privacy and mobile purchases
Read the desktop privacy notice. Purchases made through Google Play or the Apple App Store remain subject to the relevant store's billing and refund rules and the existing mobile terms. These desktop terms do not replace mandatory consumer protections.
